Getting Started 2:

This is a brief beginners guide to flying an RC helicopter. It shows the basic steps you'll need to follow in your first attempts at flying. The model shown here is the Honey Bee, however, the same basic principles apply to most other electric helicopters. Remember to always choose a safe open area, with no obstacles.

Your First Flight...

Check that the blades are inline and at 90 degrees to the flybar. Check the paddles are level with the rotor head and that no other components (such as the tail rotor) are loose.	Always switch the transmitter on before the helicopter. Ensure the throttle stick (and throttle trim) are at their lowest positions.
Connect the battery and sit the helicopter on a level surface - this allows the gyro to calibrate correctly.	Wait a few moments and you'll see the flashing light on the control box change to a continuous light. Now the helicopter is ready to fly.
Keep the helicopter level and facing away from you while you're learning the control basics.	If the helicopter's nose starts turning, correct it by moving the rudder stick in the opposite direction.
Don't be too ambitious too soon! Too much altitude and you'll have trouble orienting the helicopter - and you'll hit the ground harder!	Remember to disconnect the helicopter battery before switching off the transmitter. Allow the battery to cool before recharging.
